Hello, i am Emi Hiraki.
I am currently a student at Sint Lucas studying multimedia design. I am aiming to become a Graphic Designer.
I always had a fascination for art. Making artworks for my parents and using different art materials when making crafts. By the time i was in middle school i had already decided that i wanted to be a graphic designer, but then i didn't know what it was called.
By the time i reached High school i was alreading aiming my studies to becoming an artist. Choosing the best classes to pursue my dream.
After getting my diploma i looked for the best schools that would help me get closer to my dream i stumbled on Sint Lucas. Now is Sint Lucas an MBO school while i was looking for a HBO, they had a special class that did the course in 3 years instead of 4. And i am currently in my third and final year.
To better my social skills i joined the studentcouncil, where i am helping to better the school. In the student council i now also have the role of secretary.
I for example am the founder and president of the GSA (Gender and Sexuality Association).
In my free time i also volunteering at my local Scouts (Jong Nederland HDL) where i am group leader (with some other people) for the youngest kids.
A lot of my inspiration comes from Japan. I was always in love with the culture and specifically Anime.
While i love anime, when looking for design inspiration i always go back to japan in the 80's. Just the bright colors, use of textures and the layout of their magazines give me a spark.
But not only Japan gives me inspiration, the Alternative community as well.
I especially resonate with Rock, Punk and Gothic cultures. The harshness of the Rock community, the unpredictedness of the Punk community and the elegantness of the Goth community.
